Today we began with some interactive mini games that were themed around the current unit of computer systems. The game involved having to answer questions and then try and shoot as many targets as possible. We then had to post our total score in the email thread. I got 21 out of 31 but I killed like 50 ducks.
We then moved onto looking at a news report about the E-waste crisis in Ghana. It talked about how people would extract copper from materials while inhaling dangerous fumes that were already having an effect on their health. I found this report to be very informative and it made me more aware of what is happening.
The afternoon consisted of lots of re-submission work for the web design unit. We also watched a video showing how boats were scrapped in India. The captain of the hip would drive into a beach at high speed and people would then take the materials from the boat. I also had an air bag popped next to my head.

Blog Post 121
Today we started off with an activity which was testing how well we can tell the difference in sound quality. We had to listen to the same example of music three times and select which one we thought was an uncompressed sound file. I found this to be very enjoyable as a starter activity and it has broaden my sound based knowledge.
We then compared our assignment three checklists with two examples of assignment three work. I found this to be very helpful as it allowed me to add to my checklist as well as spotting any mistakes that were within the example pieces of work. I then compared my checklist with the scheme of learning to be sure.
Overall today was a productive and relatively fun day. The starter activity was a particular highlight in a day which mainly consisted of catching up on work and also recapping over assignment two. I hope to get more work done tomorrow so that I can finish assignment two and think about assignment three.

Blog Post 120
Today we began with another quiz that was themed around 3D printing and how it has developed over the years. There was a total of 11 questions and a total of 14 marks to get. I managed to get a very respectable 11 out of 14 but it was not enough to win the quiz overall meaning that I still have not won a quiz yet.
We then moved onto recapping what we learnt yesterday which was talking about different recommendations to make to a company regarding computer systems. Once we had done recapping we were given some time to write up assignment two task one. We did this up until 11:45.
We then talked about the dangers of playing around with computers and the health and safety measurements and precautions we could take. We did this activity in pairs and eventually combined the list with the rest of the class to make one large list. We then had to come up with a checklist for assignment three

Blog post 119
Today we began with a huge quiz with the theme of the questions being about what we are currently learning which is computer systems. There were 28 questions in all with the mark total being 50, The quiz was moderately hard because some questions I did not know and others I did know. I got a score of 36.5 out of 50.
We then moved onto covering the content required for assignment two task one. the assignment task is to recommend a computer system to a small business and suggest different methods for things such as backing up files and suggesting good security. I found this to be very helpful when it came to writing up the assignment.
Overall today was both helpful and good because I enjoyed the quiz although the 28 questions were a bit excessive and I found today's covering of the content in assignment two to be extremely helpful. I hope to write up some more of assignment two tomorrow because I have not finished it yet.

Blog Post 118
Today we began the day with a quiz about what is a computer and the basics about it. The questions at first were easy but as the quiz went on the questions got more and more difficult. For example the first question was to define what a computer is. The last question was to say how many servers were on the screen.
I only managed to achieve a score of 9 out of 16 which was not enough to win a post it note. After the quiz we recapped over what we learnt yesterday and we also talked about the purpose of a computers operating system. we came up with a mind map that contained what we thought an operating system should do.
I then moved on to assignment one task one which is to identify the different components of a computer system and to talk about their functions and how they each rely on each other. Overall I enjoyed today because the quiz was great and I am finally beginning to understand the unit.

Blog Post 117
Today we began a new unit called computer systems. We began by filling out the initial survey in which we had to rate certain aspects of our ability to learn and our knowledge of this unit. We then began by listing all of the parts of a computer that we know about. I could only list two parts which were the hard drive and motherboard.
We were then given a piece of hardware to define each. I had to define optical drive because this was probably the easiest piece of hardware to define. I then had to look up an image of an optical drive as well as a video of it working and talking about the specs of a CD, DVD and Blu Ray. I eventually did this task.
Finally I had to try out two different operating systems and locate certain things like how to remove an account and look at a computers specifications. The operating systems I used were Windows XP and Windows Vista. Tomorrow I plan on learning more about computer hardware so I can do the first task.

Blog Post 116
Today I started off the day by continuing on with assignment four task one which was to provide evidence of different things such as; the uploading of web files, the webpages in two different web browsers and the screenshots of HTML code and the CSS style sheets. We also have to include the URL for the site.
After finishing this task I moved onto assignment four task two which was to write up a review about the questionnaire I made along with evidence of improvements based off the feedback received form the questionnaire. I eventually finished this after taking many screenshots and drawing lots of text boxes.
Overall today was a good day because I achieved my goal of finishing the work before Thursday so that I can focus on the new upcoming unit about computer hardware. I also finished the evaluation task of assignment four which was to provide screenshots of how the requirements were met from the scheme of learning.
